The elemental organic polymer backbone does not necessarily contain carbon atoms, but is primarily composed of elements such as silicon and oxygen.
Thermosetting resins and thermoplastic resins are classified by properties. Thermosetting resin can not be reshaped after heating, such as unsaturated polyester, epoxy phenolic, etc. Thermoplastic resin can be reshaped after heating, such as polypropylene, polycarbonate, etc.
