Aluminum hydroxide is mainly used for aluminum smelting after being roasted into alumina. The wet aluminum hydroxide is dried or pulverized to obtain white fine particles. High hardness, wear resistance, easy processing; good chemical stability, odorless, non-toxic, non-volatile, and has good smoke and flame retardant properties; it is a typical amphoteric compound, soluble in acid solution and alkali solution. Pure aluminum hydroxide is white crystal or powder. Crystallization in the monoclinic system is predominantly gibbsite, also known as a-alumina trihydrate, and trihydroxyaluminate, also known as B- alumina trihydrate. Amorphous powders mainly exist in the form of alumina hydrogel. When heated, it loses water and decomposes into oxides. The aluminum hydroxide powder had a relative density of 2.42 and a refractive index of 4.57. Insoluble in water and alcohol, soluble in hot sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and alkali. Dehydration begins when heated to above 200°C. Due to its special physical and chemical properties, aluminum hydroxide is widely used in non-metallurgical fields such as catalysts, chemicals, refractories, plastics, papermaking, abrasives and electronic products. At present, the production methods of industrial aluminum hydroxide mainly include sintering method, Bayer method, Bayer sintering combination method, acid method, acid-base combination method, etc.
